The G-Class has been one of the most popular off-road SUVs of the last 35 years. It may come with a high price tag, but it receives no complaints from people who have been inside one for 10 seconds. It features an unprecedented and unmatched combination of luxury and trail performance that comes with the choice of five unique powertrains. Does it get any better than that? The answer is an resounding yes. The G-Class has just been improved to include a brand-new AMG engine and performance enhancements across the board. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class model specifications are now more impressive than ever with 16 percent more power and up to 17 percent lower fuel consumption.


Release: All New Interior Package For 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class

New 2017 G550 Biturbo V8

The newest and most exciting edition to the G-Class family is the new engine in the G550. Soon to be available world-wide, the G550 now sports a 4-liter biturbo V8 with 32 valves, 422 horsepower, and approximately 450 foot-pounds of torque. The previous G550 used a 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 that had 35 less horsepower and significantly lower gas mileage estimates.

New Color Options

New colors will be available with the popular G-Class when it comes out for 2017. Among the new colors are Solar Beam, Tomato Red, Alien Green, Sunset Beam, and Galactic Beam. That’s a lot of beams! These colors will be available with a new Color Package on the AMG model and will also include obsidian black detachable parts that add to the aesthetic look of the G-Class.

2017 G-Class Release Date

Mercedes-Benz has announced that the G550 will be at dealerships by December of this year, with the rest of the lineup being available this month some time. These are European release dates, however, so we will likely have to wait until September of next year for ours.
