The crossover is somewhat of an open concept. It isn’t quite small enough to be a coupe or a sedan, yet it is smaller than an SUV or a truck. This gray area has been accepted and rejected by many drivers doing their best to embrace change, but since no one knows what the future will hold, we are now looking at the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. Half SUV, half coupe, half bear, the GLC Coupe is a production reality, coming to Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead in the spring of 2017.

Like its big brother, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, the GLC Coupe is more performance focused than the SUV variant. Unlike the GLE, the GLC Coupe can be purchased without the AMG badge. This will help with affordability, but will take away from the driving experience.

The Mercedes-AMG GLC43 Coupe is the star of the GLC show until a Mercedes-AMG GLC63 Coupe comes along. With the same engine and specifications as the GLC43 SUV, it will be a thrill to drive and, we assume, will be more efficient than the GLC SUV.

The fun of the GLC Coupe continues with the Interior Sport Package. When you opt for this package, you get man-made MB-Tex leather sports seats in one solid color or two. This is what you will find in the GLC43. In the GLC300 Coupe, the Sport Package includes a flat-bottom steering wheel, AMG pedals, and AMG floormats.
The Night Package includes AMG light-alloy wheels in the size of 19 or 20 inches. They look awesome and they do actually have performance benefits. Also included in the Night Package is an optional sport exhaust system, which doesn’t really provide more power but does make the engine sound angry.
What is the difference between the GLC SUV and the GLC Coupe? About 4 inches. The GLC Coupe is a little bit shorter in height and a little bit longer in length than the SUV version. Honestly, we weren’t too thrilled about the GLE Coupe, but the GLC Coupe looks perfect. What do you think? Is it your coupe of tea? Let us know in the comments below!
Early 2017 is when Mercedes-Benz says we can expect the GLC Coupe to be available in both trims. We expect this means you will be able to buy a 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe from Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead by this time next year. Keep reading our blog for more GLC Coupe information!
