What Driving Modes Does the GLS Have?

2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class DYNAMIC SELECT Options

One of the newest innovations from Mercedes-Benz is the DYNAMIC SELECT driving mode function. With this futuristic technology, Mercedes-Benz drivers can customize the driving experience to better match their driving habits. Whether it be a focus on gas mileage or lateral stability, there is a driving mode in every Mercedes-Benz for every situation. What is even more exciting is the fact that Mercedes-Benz usually offers a unique driving mode for each vehicle. For the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class DYNAMIC SELECT options, Mercedes-Benz added OFF-ROAD+ to the list possible driving modes.

COMFORT

In the name of user-friendliness, the DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes are mostly self explanatory. Comfort mode will loosen the suspension and slow down shifting speed to maximize comfort. This makes falling asleep at the wheel more of a risk, especially in the S-Class with massaging seats.

SLIPPERY

If it is slippery underneath the GLS, then use this mode. Whether you are driving through rain, snow, ice, or a Slip n’ Slide, this mode will help you with traction by tightening suspension and balancing all-wheel drive between the front and back tires.

SPORT

Here is where things start to get fun. Sport will prompt the car to shift at higher RPMs and will lower the ride height by a few inches to get better traction around a curve.

OFF-ROAD

The off-road mode will bring the ride height back up so that there is a healthy clearance between the car and the ground.

OFF-ROAD+

OFF-ROAD+ is actually only available when you purchase the Off-Road Engineering package but it is definitely worth it. It keeps the truck in low gears and locks the center differential for 50/50 all-wheel drive.

INDIVIDUAL

INDIVIDUAL DYNAMIC SELECT driving mode lets you get creative. Pick out some of the things you like best from each mode to completely customize your driving experience.

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class DYNAMIC SELECT options put you in complete control of the vehicle. If you want to learn more about the upcoming GLS-Class, contact us at Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead.
