2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe Safety Features

The 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe was designed with safety in mind, and as a result, the vehicle was awarded a Top Safety Pick+ designation by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS system and LED lighting made it possible for the GLC Coupe to receive the award.

COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS is a radar system that will alert you when it appears that a collision is likely. The system can assist in braking, and can even initiate braking automatically when the vehicle is traveling below 65 miles per hour.

Some of the other best standard safety features include Crosswind Assist, ATTENTION ASSIST, PRE-SAFE, LED lighting and adaptive braking technology.

The GLC Coupe offers a few premium safety features as well, including DISTRONIC PLUS with Steering Assist, which works as a cruise control system that will keep your vehicle within a safe distance of traffic in front of your vehicle, automatically braking if necessary. DISTRONIC PLUS can even brake to a complete stop in case of an emergency situation. Steering Assist works to keep your vehicle safely in the correct lane.

Other available safety technology includes BAS® PLUS, PRE-SAFE PLUS, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Speed Limit Assist, Blind Spot Assist and more!
