Mercedes-Benz Forced Induction Explained

Mercedes-Benz Biturbo Vs Natural Aspiration

Mercedes-Benz biturbo vs natural aspiration is a choice you have to make before purchasing a new Mercedes-Benz. Regardless of model, every Mercedes-Benz comes with the option of a biturbo engine. In fact, many of the Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the lineup have completely switched to biturbo, leaving the choice of natural aspiration in the past. Is turbocharging your car really as awesome as it sounds? Didn’t your dad once say that turbochargers are unreliable and expensive to service?

Turbocharge Efficiency

In the past, turbochargers were reserved for racing applications because hey, your dad was right. Fortunately for us though, this is no longer the case. Turbo technology has come a long way since the Toyota Supra and although the engines themselves are more expensive to make, they actually make cars more efficient and more powerful at the same time! Another common problem with turbochargers of yesterday was that they decreased the overall life span of the vehicle. Again, thanks to computers and routine maintenance, there is no reason for a turbocharger or Mercedes-Benz biturbo system to make a car die sooner. So go for the biturbo! For if you do, sunglasses will grow on your face like the people enjoying biturbo technology in the picture above. Right?

Mercedes-Benz Biturbo

A biturbo engine is one that uses two identical turbochargers, working simultaneously, to increase air pressure in the cylinders, thus making the engine more powerful.

The fact that someone invented the combustion engine at all is beyond comprehension, but then someone figured out how to make it more powerful by increasing air pressure and that’s just too much to handle. Forced induction is one of the greatest human inventions of all time. Not just because of the power increase, but also because of increased efficiency, better use of space, and blow off valves! Yeah, man, blow off valves! If you have any questions or opinions, drop us a comment right quick and get jiggy with it.
