Mercedes-Benz Vision Van
Mercedes-Benz is always looking into the future. Whether it be tomorrow or 20 years from now, Mercedes-Benz knows where it wants to go. Right now, its public focus is on commercial shipping. About a month ago, it showed us the fully-electric Urban eTRUCK semi that could change how we deliver goods in urban areas. It’s even talking about being able to set your car as a delivery spot for mail! Well, it just got more interesting with the Mercedes-Benz Vision Van.
You’re So Van, You Probably Think This Blog Is About You
F 015 Luxury In Motion
The F 015 Luxury In Motion has been around for a while, so you may have seen it before. Basically, it is a small living room on wheels. The seats inside swivel and the electric car is completely autonomous. The Mercedes-Benz Vision Van is obviously inspired by the Luxury In Motion. Not only does it look like the autonomous pioneer, it also works like it.
Metris
The Mercedes-Benz Vision Van is also reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz Metris. Actually, it kind of is a Metris, except that it is equipped with an automatic package retriever that brings boxes from the back to the front, and two drone soldiers waiting eagerly on the roof.
Range
One of the big topics of discussion that always comes up when Mercedes-Benz introduces a new electric Vision vehicle is the range. People want to know how far it goes, but what they really want to know is whether it would keep up with a Tesla if it were to go into production. The Mercedes-Benz Vision Van has a maximum range of about 170 miles. This is not quite as far as Tesla, but it is also a commercial van, so it might be even more impressive.
