Fall Car Care
Check the tires | Tires are one of the most important components of driving, and they also endure the most wear and tear on a daily basis. At least once a week, check tire pressure and tread to ensure tires are fully inflated and free from puncture holes and blemishes. Your vehicle needs a wheel alignment if your tires are showing uneven wear. Keeping tires fully inflated improves efficiency and performance.
Check the lights and wipers | Its important to see and be seen behind the wheel. Check your vehicle daily to make sure all the lights are properly working and plenty bright. At least once a month, test your vehicle’s wipers to see how well they clean your windshield. Replace wipers and lights as needed.
Check all the fluids | Strange noises or strained performance are usually an indication of low fluid levels, and could lead to major repairs. Check your vehicle’s antifreeze/coolant, engine oil, brake and transmission, windshield washer solvent, and power steering. Fluids should be checked every trip to the gas station.
Check the battery | Car batteries can wear down over time or start to corrode along the wires and lose proper connection. At least once a month, check your battery to ensure the connection is tight, clean, and corrosion-free. Replace your car battery every three-four years.
