Mercedes-Maybach has been busy in 2016. Roughly three months ago, the luxury auto manufacturer rolled out the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6. From the Vision 6 concept, we were able to see the future of Maybach luxury. We didn’t, however, expect the future to happen so soon. In just two days, the 2018 Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet will be introduced at the Los Angeles Motor Show.
How Many S650 Cabriolets Will Be Made?
Yesterday, Mercedes-Benz released a 21-second video building hype for the new super-luxury car. In this video, a Maybach Badge can clearly be seen on the center console with the designation 1 of 300. This means the S650 Cabriolet will be next to impossible to purchase, but we are okay with that considering it will cost more than a quarter of a million dollars.
United States Availability
Unlikely. The fuel consumption and CO2 emission estimates in the video indicate this vehicle will be sold in Europe. It might show up in other parts of the world, but we don’t expect the United States to be one of them.
Mercedes-Maybach S650 Retail Price
Currently, the Mercedes-Maybach S600 comes with a sticker price just short of $200,000. With the extremely limited availability of this new model and its topless fashion, we estimate a bill of $300,000 or more for each lucky customer. Of course, the car will immediately begin to appreciate, unless Mercedes-Benz decides to make more, which is unlikely.
