In a few ways, the GLA-Class can be thought of as the missing link in the Mercedes-Benz evolutionary chain. It connects the sedan and the CUV with a perfect mix of curves and interior space. It also has design similarities with larger SUVs, but comes with the benefit of a smaller price tag. This month, we are looking forward to the 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class release date because it will be coming with new features and upgrades that will make trading in your 2015 model more than worth it.
2016 GLA Powertrain Options
The 2016 GLA-Class design is carried over from 2015. It uses the engine and platform as the CLA-Class sedan, but has more interior space for passengers or cargo. It is available in two different trims, available in three variations. The base model is the GLA250. This trim uses 208 horsepower to power the front wheels. It is also available with 4MATIC all-wheel drive, which gives the GLA better acceleration and traction on and off the road. For the driver looking for more excitement, the GLA45 uses the same size engine to produce 375 horsepower. The engine has been improved from that of the 2015 GLA, which only has 355 horsepower.
2016 GLA-Class New Features
The GLA-Class will now come with many new standard features previously only offered as options. On the inside, GLA owners will now enjoy a larger, 7-inch display screen, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and two-toned leather interior. These will all come standard in the GLA along with KEYLESS-START, KEYLESS-GO, and DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes.
