Even though the name indicates exactly what it is, it is still somewhat confusing. So to clear up any confusion you may be experiencing, It’s not something you put in your gloves at a football game. It’s ventilation that lives in the headrests of the S-Class. It is for people with cold necks or convertibles that are stuck open. All jokes aside, it only seems silly until you try it. It allows you to enjoy summer even when the temperature drops. It gives you the chance to cruise the highway with the top down in fifty degree weather and comfortably laugh at all the other motorists trapped in their cars.

Mercedes-Benz AIRCAP Wind Protection System

To make the 2016 S-Class Cabriolet even more comfortable, Mercedes-Benz also came up with the AIRCAP system. In an effort to guide the flow of air over the top of the car and out of your face, the AIRCAP system consists of two functions. First, an air guard pops up above the windshield about 4 inches. In a way, it serves the same function as a spoiler, but does it for a different reason, which is to push the airflow above your head.

The second function on the AIRCAP is an extension behind the back seat. It raises the headrests up with a air screen in the middle to push the air even further up. The two functions work together to create a safety bubble in the cabin that abolishes moving air.

It is features like this that make the 2016 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet the most luxurious convertible on the planet. If you are interested in the S-Class, visit us at Mercedes-Benz of Arrowhead!
