It is the smallest vehicle available under the Mercedes-Benz brand on any continent but it holds its own against cars twice its size.
Engine
The 2017 Mercedes-AMG A45 comes with a handcrafted AMG 2.0L inline-4 turbo. It is the same one used in the Mercedes-AMG CLA45, producing 375 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.
Transmission
As a true AMG vehicle, the A45 comes with the infamous 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT dual clutch automatic sport transmission. This transmission can literally shift faster than you can blink your eyes and allows the 375-horsepower hatchback to maintain 30 miles per gallon on the highway.
0-60 MPH Acceleration
Since this is a car for adrenaline junkies and speed enthusiasts, we couldn’t leave out these important statistics. Mercedes-Benz has quoted the A45 at 4.2 seconds, which is a curious number because the Mercedes-AMG CLA45 only needs 4.1 seconds with the same engine and a bigger body.
Top Speed
The top speed on the 2017 Mercedes-AMG A45 4MATIC is electronically limited to 155 miles per hour, but modified versions have been known to close in on 200 miles per hour.
