2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE W167 New Body Style
The Mercedes-Benz GLE found its way to market last year when Mercedes-Benz decided to dramatically change the names and looks of most of its lineup. Underneath, much of the GLE is still the same as the M-Class that it replaced, but that isn’t stopping Mercedes-Benz from updating the body style again after just two years of production. The 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE W167 new body style will be more rounded, based on the spy shots below.
2018 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Changes
Smaller
In the last 10 years, Mercedes-Benz has developed an ability to make a vehicle’s overall size smaller, while increasing the amount of interior space within the car. Perhaps this goes to show how much space is wasted on a typical passenger vehicle, but it also shows that Mercedes-Benz its shaping its future in the right direction. For the 2018 GLE, it looks like this trend will continue with a rounded-off version of the GLE.
New Grille
In many situations, a new grille can change the entire look of a car. It is covered up well, but the 2018 GLE could be sporting a larger, more boxy grille than the one on the current W166.
Interior
The E-Class lineup underwent some major changes from the 2016 to 2017 production year. Most of these changes pertain to the interior, which will almost certainly trickle over to the GLE SUV. This includes enormous infotainment and instrument cluster screens, a touch-pad steering wheel, and a handful of other features you won’t find in another mid-level luxury SUV.
DRIVE PILOT
Mercedes-Benz DRIVE PILOT is a package that was introduced with the 2017 E-Class. It is a semi-autonomous driving system that can follow the flow of traffic on or off the highway, constantly monitoring surroundings for potential hazards. We would be surprised if this didn’t find its way to the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE W167. If you have any questions about the new body style or advanced features, leave a comment below!
