Amenities and Technologies
The premium luxury sedan lineup offers several cabin upgrades for 2018, including upgraded design and innovative technology. The cabin features two new wood trim options and three new upholstery options, and all V8 models come standard with Nappa Leather. A new steering wheel integrates Touch Control Buttons that work with a swiping action.
Upgraded dual 12.3″ high-resolution displays with a single bonded glass panel form the wide-screen digital cockpit. The cockpit offers three different display styles: Classic, Sport, and Progressive. A new ENERGIZING® Comfort feature is a world-first that links numerous comfort systems, including climate control, ambient lighting, and massage.
Powertrain Specs
Three new powertrains debut in the 2018 S-Class Sedan model lineup. The S 450 and S 450 4MATIC®, both new models, are powered by a 3.0L V6 biturbo engine that delivers 362 horsepower. A 4.0L V8 biturbo engine that delivers a thrilling 463 horsepower are equipped on the S 560 models, as well as the Mercedes-Maybach S 560 4MATIC®. The AMG S 63 sports a handcrafted-AMG 4.0L V8 biturbo engine that delivers a heart-pounding 603 horsepower.
The 2018 S-Class Sedan will also offer a number of performance-enhancing features like RACE START® to help increase acceleration time, AMG DYNAMIC SELECT® with four modes for a more personalize drive, and MAGIC BODY CONTROL® suspension with the CURVE® tilting function to enhance comfort on sharp turns. Other unique technologies include Road Surface Scan (forward-looking detection of bumps) and LED Intelligent Light System with Ultra-Wide Beam.
