2019 Mercedes-AMG® E 53 Sedan Engine Specs and Max Horsepower
Mercedes-AMG® recently revealed the new AMG® E 53 Sedan, joining the new AMG® E 53 Coupe and Cabriolet models and replacing the previous AMG® E 43 Sedan model. The E 53 Sedan will be offered as a 2019 model and will be available for sale in the U.S. by late 2018. The new sedan boasts a new engine, fully variable all-wheel drive, larger brakes, and more standard equipment. AMG®-Enhanced 3.0L I6 Turbo
Under the hood, the 2019 AMG® E 53 models boast a new AMG-enhanced® 3.0L I6 turbo engine. Characterized by innovative electrification and top performance, the engine also features the EQ Boost starter-alternator, which combines a starter motor and alternator in a powerful electric motor located between the engine and transmission. The powertrain was designed to enhance driving dynamics while also reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
The engine is mated to the AMG SPEEDSHIFT® TCT 9G transmission, characterized by extremely short shift times and impressively quick response. The transmission also features shift paddle commands, a double-declutching function, and multiple downshifts.
Thanks to the 2019 AMG® E 53 Sedan’s dynamic powertrain duo, the sedan delivers exciting and thrilling performance that will please driving enthusiasts of all kinds. The sedan delivers a maximum output of 429 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque with an additional 184 lb-ft with the EQ Boost. The sedan sprints from 0-60 MPH in just 4.4 seconds and tops out at 130 MPH.
