If you were a fan of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT, you may be wondering why there is no convertible option for the GT, GT S, or GT R. We know cabriolets have to sacrifice performance for comfort, but any car with a price tag as large as the one on the GT should come with the option to remove the roof. The 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT R is easily going to be one fo the hottest cars of the next two years both on and off the race track. Everything about it is reminiscent of the long history and success of the Mercedes-AMG brand except for one thing. In 2015, production of the SLS AMG GT ended and took the convertible option with it. Now, if you want a cabriolet that goes fast, you have to settle for a C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, SLC, or SL-Class to get your convertible fix. Of course, these are all amazing cars, but none of them are the AMG GT. It is consistently labeled as one of the most satisfying cars to drive and has one of the most unique engines in the automotive industry. The good news is that we won’t have to wait much longer for an new convertible GT.. The 2018 Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster will have the price tag of an SL-Class with the specifications of the AMG GT. Mercedes-Benz is known for its luxury and performance. For this reason, it keeps its name out of the Smart lineup of cars, but it is not completely removed from the brand thanks to BRABUS. The 2017 BRABUS Xclusive Smart Fortwo offers more than 100 horsepower and weighs just over 2,000 pounds. Now, this is still quite a bit heavier than a motorcycle, but light enough to get the car up to 100 miles per hour! Like the real cars, sometimes you can find limited edition models that will appreciate in value, and look great on a shelf, just like the real things.
