Enhanced Driver Assistance Package
The 2018 S-Class Sedan features an enhanced Driver Assistance Package that adds several innovative systems to monitor and respond to possible hazards on the road. The new Driver Assistance Package includes the following Intelligent Drive systems:
- Active Steering Assist | Gently applies steering torque to keep the sedan centered in its lane, even on bends.
- Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC | Better utilizes map and navigation data and supports the driver based on the route. Active Speed Limit Assist adjusts the sedan’s speed.
- Active Lane Change Assist | Changes the sedan’s lane at the touch of a button in 10 seconds or less, after monitoring surroundings for other vehicles.
- Active Emergency Stop Assist | Applies brakes when Active Steering Assist is engaged.
- Traffic Sign Assist | Displays posted speed limits for current route with image recognition and information from the navigation system’s digital road map.
