Just under 300,000 models are included in this recent Mercedes-Benz brake recall. Not every vehicle that falls within the timeframe (2006-2012) and model type (Mercedes-Benz ML Series, GL Series, and R-Class) will need to visit the shop for maintenance. We’ll be able to determine if your vehicle falls within the recall by checking the VIN number.
The recall campaign started on May 28, 2022.
The brake recall has been issued with the intent to address the brake-boosting systems in affected Mercedes-Benz models. Your brakes have a boosting system that makes the pedal modulation easier to manipulate. The brake boosting also allows for more confident stopping power when you want to decelerate.
Certain recalled vehicles will require a pedal rework, while others just need a quick retuning at a service center.
