The 2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Cargo Van comes in five different models, each is denoted by a number. You can easily remember the models of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Cargo Van in order from highest to lowest when you remember that the lowest number corresponds with the lowest trim level. In order from lowest to highest, the model options are the 1500, 2500, 3500, 3500 XD, and the 4500. When we refer to a trim level being low, we mean that it has a lower price and fewer luxury features.
The chart below compares the lowest, middle, and highest models of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Cargo Van. You can view their starting prices, wheelbase options, roof options, and engine type in the chart below. We’ll have more information below that.

Possibly the biggest difference between the five models of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Cargo Van is the payload. The payload is how much weight a vehicle can carry, not including its own weight or towing weight. The 1500 model has the lowest payload of 3,920 pounds. In fact, they go up in payload as you move up in trim level. Thus the 2500 can carry 4,420 pounds, the 3500 can carry 4,488 pounds, the 3500 XD can carry 5,706 pounds, and the 4500 can carry up to 6,768 pounds. Jobs that often require the transportation of heavy equipment should play it safe and choose a higher trim level for this reason, rather than risk damaging their van.
As for price, you can see most of the prices in the chart above, but we did skip over two models. The 2500 model starts out at $35,720 and the 3500 XD model starts out at $45,320. Choosing a model may seem overwhelming, but setting a clear budget, knowing how heavy your gear is, and knowing what type of engine you want are three easy ways to drastically narrow down your options.
